Adobe Photoshop is a professional edition and the full-featured version of the Photoshop suite of software, developed by Adobe. Its first release was Photoshop 1.0 in 1987. Currently the software comes as a subscription-based version called Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe Photoshop is a vast suite of image manipulation tools that can be used for photo retouching and designing. Photoshop has over 20 applications that can all be used with the software, including: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop Express (for mobile editing).

You can make adjustments to the overall image like hue, saturation and luminosity and correct color fringing, better known as aliasing. There are many different image editing tools available, many of them very similar to Photoshop.

On the PC side, the version that we will be reviewing today is Photoshop CC 2019 (with a CC standing for Creative Cloud), but if you do not have a subscription, you can use the latest version of Photoshop (and Elements) for free online.

It is important to consider the many plugins that are included with the software, because some allow unlimited use whereas others restrict.

Some plugins are available to download, others through an Adobe account. The following plugins that we’ve used on this review are all available to purchase:

Adobe Photoshop

Luminosity Adjustment

Lens Corrections

BleachBit Antivirus

How to use Photoshop elements

Adobe Photoshop Elements is easy to use; beginners can start working with the software immediately and hobbyists and professionals can use it to edit images.

To open an image, right-click on the Photoshop Elements icon in the start menu and select Open. Then select the folder where you wish to keep the image in.

Using a RAW image

When opening a RAW file, Photoshop Elements automatically creates a new blank image or opens the image in an existing one. You can open a RAW file in Photoshop by double-clicking on the file.

Alternatively, you can open the image in Photoshop Elements and directly import the RAW file. To do this, open the file, press CTRL+I (Windows) or COMMAND+I (Mac OS), or click on the Import tab in the top right corner of the interface.

Editing a RAW file

When you open a RAW file, the software automatically selects the best image data and optimizes it with the default settings

The Brush Tool allows you to paint with brushes of different size, color and opacity, and fill-in with different colors. Simply click the brush, the color picker will open and you can choose a color from there. If you wish to paint with an opacity of 0%, click the wheel icon in the right hand side of the brush tool, or the icon with a “T” in it.

The Eraser Tool allows you to remove content from an image. By clicking on the tool, it will be highlighted, and the area you select will be removed.

The Gradient tool allows you to change the brightness and darkness of an image with different colors. Click on the tool, then click and drag the mouse to make the desired color transition. You can also adjust the opacity of the tool by pressing CTRL + mouse wheel on your keyboard.

The Pen Tool allows you to draw a line or polygon of an image. To start the tool, click on the tool and a cross hair will appear at the center of the tool. To draw a line, click on an area of the image that you wish to move and click to connect the first and last points of the line. To create a polygon, click and drag the mouse to draw the shape.

The Blur tool allows you to apply a blur effect on an image. This tool is very useful for lightening up images. To apply a blur effect, click on the button, and the blur circles will appear. Drag the mouse to apply different amounts of blur.

If you want to zoom in or out of an image, click on the tool and the zoom box will appear. You can also drag the tool around with your mouse.

The Pen Tool allows you to draw or fill in shapes, circles or rectangles. To start the tool, click on it and a hand will appear. Click and drag the mouse to draw a shape. Alternatively, click and drag to fill the shape.

The Flow tool is used to create a shape flow in an image. To do so, click on the tool and click to place the starting point. To place the finishing point, click on the final shape. You can then repeat this process to achieve more complicated flows. To begin again with a new flow, click on the tool again.

The Erase tool allows you to clear an image, similar to removing content with the eraser tool. To start the tool, click on the button and

Does.NET’s Random.GetHashCode() require synchronization?

I’m making an application that is multi-threaded, and I have several custom objects that can be used to generate random keys. These objects have a GetHashCode() override, which returns a standard value for the key. A key is generated by taking a given object’s GetHashCode(), adding a fixed offset and then casting it to an int.
I want to maintain a stable, random sequence of keys being generated, and I know that for all primitive types,.NET’s Random.GetHashCode() uses an object that has a sealed field containing a fixed seed, and a Random instance for each thread. My question is, do the sealed fields need to be synchronized? When I run the program from the debugger, I don’t see any problems with the code. I am guessing that the Random instances are safely shared, and that synchronization is done at the level of their GetHashCode() implementation.
public override int GetHashCode()
// Assuming that the randomly generated numbers are never greater than their array indexes, I’m not sure there’s any concern here.
return ((int)this.item1.GetHashCode()) ^ (int)(this.offset + 1) ^ this.item2.GetHashCode();

I also would be interested in comments on a better way to achieve a random key generation that does not require manual synchronization of the private fields.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean about static Random fields, but as far as using the default Random, there is a problem.
Normally, if a Random is reused it will change the seed it will use. Reusing it for a sequence means that if two threads generate distinct random numbers, the “random” result would be the same number from two threads.
So if you’re depending on deterministic key generation, don’t reuse Random instances. Instead, either create a single, private Random instance and hold it for reuse, or use the system-provided RandomNumberGenerator for generating the key.

If you’re using.NET 4.5, you can use a single instance of Random and keep track of the current seed using a read-only property. To initialize, call Random.Seed
